Why Experience Matters in Aesthetic Medicine: Choosing the Right Practitioner

When individuals are considering aesthetic treatments, it's natural to focus on the treatment itself.

Which skin booster is best? Which collagen stimulator lasts longest? Which treatment will give the most natural result?

But over the years, I've come to believe that the person delivering the treatment is often just as important as the treatment itself.

Many clinics can offer similar products and procedures. What is much harder to replicate is experience, judgement and the relationship that develops between a practitioner and their patients.

More Than Just a Treatment

With over 30 years of medical experience, I have learned that there is rarely a "one-size-fits-all" solution.

Every face is different, every skin is different, and every patient has different aesthetic goals.

This is why I spend time listening, assessing and developing personalised treatment plans rather than following trends or applying the same approach to everyone.

In fact, some of the most important decisions I make are the treatments I choose not to recommend.

The Responsibility Stays With Me

Montclaire Aesthetics is a small, independent clinic, and I personally carry out every consultation and treatment.

That means there is continuity from start to finish. The person you meet during your consultation is the same person who creates your treatment plan, performs your treatment and supports you afterwards.

There is no handover. No sales team. No pressure.

Just honest advice and a treatment plan built around you.

Always Learning, Always Questioning

One of the things I love most about aesthetic medicine is that it is constantly evolving.

I spend a great deal of time researching new technologies, regenerative treatments and advances in skin health. However, I don't introduce something simply because it is new or fashionable.

I want to understand the science behind it first.

I want to experence it for myself and gauge the expected patient experience and results, in order to recommend it on to suitable patients.

Patients trust me to recommend treatments because I believe they are safe, effective and genuinely beneficial, not because they are the latest trend or I am under a company's incentive to sell.

Knowing My Limits

I believe one of the most important qualities in healthcare is knowing what you don't know.

No practitioner has all the answers, and good clinical judgement often comes from recognising your limitations as much as your strengths.

If I believe another treatment, another approach or even another specialist would better serve a patient, I will always say so.

For me, honesty, transparency, ethics and empathy will always be more important than making a sale.

The Human Side of Aesthetic Medicine

Many patients tell me that what they value most is feeling listened to.

Aesthetic concerns can be deeply personal, and I never forget that behind every consultation is a real person with their own story, worries and hopes.

Creating natural results is important, but so is making patients feel comfortable, understood and supported throughout their journey.

I am always contactable after a treatment - it is your face after all!

Why Patients Return

I like to think that patients return to Montclaire Aesthetics not simply because of a treatment, but because they trust the care, the honesty and the attention to detail that comes with it.

My goal has never been to change how people look.

It has always been to help people feel more confident in themselves through safe, ethical and evidence-based care.

Because in aesthetic medicine, the treatment matters.

But the person guiding you through it matters too.
