Botox before and afters in Barnes, Richmond

1. What is Botox?
Botox is a purified protein used to relax targeted facial muscles. When administered by a qualified practitioner, it softens the appearance of lines and wrinkles for a smoother, refreshed look.
Interesting to know: In medical settings, Botulinum toxin (Botox) is used to treat chronic migraines, muscle spasticity (such as post-stroke or cerebral palsy stiffness), cervical dystonia, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), and eye disorders like strabismus and blepharospasm by temporarily relaxing overactive muscles or blocking specific nerve signals.
2. How long do the results last?
Most patient's results last around 3–4 months. However, everyone metabolises Botox differently .Your lifestyle, muscle strength, and individual goals all influence how long your results will last.
Interesting to know: Although all licensed Botox (Botulinum toxin Type A) in the UK are the generically the same, different brands prepared in different ways can give individuals slightly different results. I can advise on the optimal brand of Botox for you.
Also, a Zinc suppliment can help Botox last longer.
3. Will I look “frozen”?
Not when treatment is carefully planned and delivered.
I want to create natural results, 'Looking Fresh, Not Done' is my business motto.
If in doubt, I will under-treat an area, with a view to top up in a week.
Facial anatomy, balance and optimising aging is my forte.
4. Is it painful?
The injections are quick and I use a very fine needle, smaller than an insulin needle.
I also have a couple of methods to distract you and your nerve endings, including numbing cream. I'm also patient and empathetic.
5. When will I see the difference?
You will usually notice a subtle change within 3–5 days, with full results appearing around two weeks after treatment.
Interesting to know: Before and after photos always confidential, but an insurance requirement.
6. Who is a good candidate?
Botox can benefit a wide range of people, but every treatment plan starts with a one-to-one consultation.
During your visit we discuss your medical history, facial anatomy, and the look you want to achieve before recommending a plan.
Interesting to know: It is illegal to treat a person under 18 with Botox for cosmetic purposes. Botox is also not licensed for use on pregenant or breast feeding women - but I do have some other safe alternatives
7. How much will I need?
That depends entirely on your facial muscles, skin condition, and desired outcome.
There is no “one-size-fits-all” dose. Your treatment is tailored specifically to you.
8. What is preventative Botox?
A scare mongering marketing ploy? If you don't have an obvious, undesirable wrinkle, line or need a beneficial lift, then there most likely is a more optimal treatment for you.. we can discuss.
Interesting to know: Until the age of 30-40 (when collagen production starts to significantly decline), most wrinkles can still be erased with other treatments.
7. What if it goes wrong?
Don't worry, I am here for you and I will never take a risk with your face.
I am a CQC registered medical clinic, with emergemcy equipment and huge support network on hand. I also have 30 years of medical experience.
Interesting to know: Botox is self-limitimg, so it will wear off in about 3 months
8. Will my face drop if I stop having Botox?
In most cases No. If you are using Botox to lift up your brow or sides of eyes, you do tend to notice when the muscle regains strength and pulls down again, but there can be alternative treatments to help with this, if you didn't want to continue with Botox.
I will say that long term use of Botox does result in muscles reducing in size and therefore not requiring Botox as often.
